This year incredible archaeological finds continue to unfold, bringing new information about Israel’s ancient past. Two new discoveries one in the north of Israel and the other in Jerusalem, bring fascinating insight to history and the Bible.

In Jerusalem the rare find that recently came to light confirms names in the book of Jeremiah near the time of the destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians, along with a discovery to the time of King David.

Recent discoveries in the City of David related to the time of King David include the possibility of uncovering his palace. Two seals with the names of two characters related to this time, including Gedaliah, were discovered within 30 feet of each other. Yishai Fleisher interviewed Doron Spielman who explained that this gives incontrovertible proof of the existence and presence of the Jewish people in Israel to the present day.

Along with these two incredible finds came the discovery in northern Israel of a 5,000 year old Canaanite city that had a population of around 6,000 people, leading some to the call this an ancient megalopolis like New York City.

Ultimately the spade of the archaeologist continues to unearth evidence concerning the truth of God’s Word. Indeed, the rocks seem to be crying out!
