Israel is suffering a deadly Sukkot week. On Tuesday (11th), 21-year-old IDF St.-Sgt. Ido Baruch was killed in a drive-by shooting by the Lions’ Den, a Palestinian terror group, in the West Bank city Nablus. The Lions’ Den also killed 18-year-old IDF Sgt. Noa Lazar in a drive-by shooting on Saturday when a terrorist fired at security guards at point-blank range. As it continues to search for the killers from each attack, the IDF has blocked traffic to and from Nablus. As a result, tensions have heightened, and Palestinians have clashed with Israeli security forces. Israelis are now threatened with terror attacks hourly in the West Bank, as the Judea and Samaria emergency center recorded 23 terror incidents in the past day.
Israelis face a real, frightful threat that most of us have never had to worry about. Palestinian terrorists are following a deadly ideology that justifies their murder of Jewish people, making their violence all the more dangerous and zealous. While Israelis are surrounded by these terrorists seeking to kill them during their holiday celebrations, we should remember to pray for the safety of Israelis and for strength for their defenders in the IDF.
