The Jordanian government suspended the filming of a fictional movie about a boy who uncovers an ancient stone with a Hebrew inscription on it in the city of Petra. The Jordanian government halted the filming over the plots portrayal connecting the history of the Jewish people to the country of Jordan.

Whether Jordan likes it or not there is plenty of archaeological evidence to prove a Jewish presence in Jordan in Israel’s history. But the government is scared this film will open the door to Israel wanting to claim land on the other eastern shores of the Jordan river, which is just absurd. What this really shows us is that the peaceful relationship between Jordan and Israel is actually quite strained from the actions we see coming out of Amman.
