“Patience is a virtue,” and the IDF demonstrated that patience in the attack on a Hamas compound that took out some key leaders, including the possibility of Muhammed Deif, the one who planned the October 7, 2023 attack. Whether Deif actually died in the attack remains unclear. But a key person taken out was the commander of the Khan Younis Brigade, Rafa’a Salameh. “Deif and Salameh had a close relationship,” the IDF said on Sunday, describing the time of investigation and observation of the compound that led to the discovery that “Salameh and Deif were highly likely to be together. This led to the attack on the compound, which definitely killed Salameh and appears probable took out Deif as well.”

As Chief of Staff Halevi said, “Hamas is trying to hide the results of the strike on Muhammed Deif.”

Israel continues to strategically and successfully reduce the leadership of Hamas as they pursue their aim of eliminating Hamas.
