In two related stories, twenty rockets were released into Israel from Gaza Monday Morning. Iron Dome eliminated some of the rockets, while others landed in Israel. “Local authorities said there was no damage or injuries in the attack.” Eleven Israeli communities were targeted, including Nir Oz, which experienced a Hamas attack the morning of October 7. Palestinian Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility, Israeli troops responded with shelling to the rocket launch site.

On the same day, IDF troops uncovered and demolished the largest Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket production site in a Rafah tunnel. “Troops of the IDF destroyed a 1-km sized tunnel in Central Gaza.”

While we celebrate our country’s birth this week, keep Israel in your thoughts and prayers as they seek to defeat their enemies of freedom and peace. As Prime Minister Netanyahu said at the beginning of this war, “This is a war of good against evil, of light against darkness and light must win.” May we pray to that end, that God will strengthen and give the military the victory over Hamas and other enemies of Israel.. As the psalmist says, “Through God we shall do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our enemies” (Psalm 108:13).
