Terror Attack: Soldier stabbed in Arad, dies of his wounds

Young IDF soldier, 19-year-old Yitzhak Kukia, was stabbed at a bus stop outside a mall in the southern Israeli city of Arad Thursday evening (11/30).  

The victim was found unconscious with stab wounds to his upper body.  Attempts at resuscitation by Magen David Adom failed.

The assailant fled the scene.

Security forces opened a manhunt to locate the murderer.

Israeli shoots Palestinian dead after group of children come under attack

An Israeli shot dead a Palestinian on Thursday (11/30) who was among a group of rioters throwing rocks at a group of Israeli children on a hiking trip near the West Bank village of Qusra.

According to witnesses, the violence erupted after the Israeli group came under attack in what was described as an “attempted lynching.”

“Dozens of Palestinians threw rocks at us, we were in a life-threatening situation, and we were trying to protect the children,” said one of the children’s fathers, who shot the Palestinian.

IDF bombs Gaza terror targets in response to mortar fire

Palestinians on Thursday (11/30) fired some 15 mortar shells at an IDF position situated on the border with Gaza, prompting the IDF to bomb terror targets inside Gaza

No Israelis were injured in the attack.

In response, IDF tanks bombed four Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets inside Gaza.

Avner Netanyahu completes army service

Avner Netanyahu, son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu , has completed his regular army service and been released from the IDF

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that “We are proud of Avner and love him and we share the excitement of all Israeli parents who go through this wonderful experience.”

Arab MK slams UN celebration of Israel’s independence

MK Ahmad Tibi attacked Israel and a UN-held celebration of the 1947 Partition Plan vote which led to Israel’s Declaration of Independence, saying it is hypocritical of the state to celebrate such an event while denying Palestinians independence.

Tibi used the platform at the UN to criticize Israel for celebrating the 1947 Partition Plan and accused Israel of discriminatory policies toward Palestinians.

Israeli ambassador to the UN Danny Danon said that “It is a disgrace that a Knesset Member chooses to defame Israel at the UN and goes against the celebrations for its establishment.

Palestinians delay Gaza handover as unity deal flounders – Adel Zaanoun

Rival Palestinian factions agreed Wednesday (11/29) to postpone the handover of control over Gaza from Hamas to Fatah as they accused each other of not respecting an Egyptian-brokered reconciliation deal.  Sharp disagreements remained over the fate of public employees in Gaza and security control of the enclave.  On Wednesday PA employees were prevented by Hamas from returning to work at a number of ministries.

The handover was to have taken place on Friday (1st).  Now it is extended for ten more days.

Netanyahu invited to address EU Foreign Ministers – Herb Keinon

EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini announced Tuesday (11/28) that she has invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Dec.11.  A senior diplomatic official said Netanyahu will tell European leaders that their obsessive focus on the settlements is “ridiculous,” remind them that the Arab-Israeli conflict predated the settlements by 50 years, and say that 85% of the settlements are in settlement blocs that “everyone knows will be part of Israel.”

In addition, Netanyahu will point out that “we in Israel are the future, we will bring you water, technology and security against terrorists – we have blocked 30 to 40 major attacks in Europe.  You ask your people whether they would rather have that or Ramallah.”

Egypt: President gives forces 3 months to calm restive Sinai

After the worst terror attack in Egypt’s modern history at a Sufi mosque in northern Sinai, President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi gave his security forces a three-month deadline to crush the insurgency in Sinai.  In a televised ceremony marking Muhammad’s birthday on Wednesday (11/29), Sissi said, “I am mandating Maj.-Gen.Mohammed Farid Hegazy before you and the entire people of Egypt, to restore security and stability in Sinai.  With God’s benevolence and your efforts and sacrifices, you and the police will restore security and use all brute force – all brute force.”

Saudi TV host calls to allow Israeli teams to compete in world tournaments – Anthony Harwood

Saudi Arabian TV host Waleed Al-Faraj, speaking on MBC, the Arab world’s most popular channel, called for Israeli teams to be allowed to compete in sports tournaments after seven Israeli chess players submitted visa requests to play in a tournament in Riyadh next month.  Al-Faraj said it was time for Saudi Arabia to throw open its sports competitions to everyone, whatever their country of origin.

MedyMatch Technology of Israel, which has developed an artificial intelligence-based software to help clinicians assess head trauma or stroke where intracranial hemorrhage is suspected, has entered a partnership with GE Healthcare, a subsidiary of General Electric that manufactures CT image machines.
