Word Processor:
Students should have access to a Word Processor that is capable of editing/viewing documents in Word (.doc) and/or Rich Text (.rtf) formats, such as Microsoft Word, and Write/WordPad (in Windows).
You could try using an open source program such as Open Office (3) as your Word Processor. Open Office is capable of creating Microsoft Office compatible documents, and more. And it is freely available.

Hardware Requirements
There’s no particular hardware requirement on the computer(s) you will be using to take our courses online. Any computer with reasonable performance running a modern operating system, browser, Word Processor, and media player is okay. You can use either a PC or Mac.
Some recommendations are listed below.
Computer Speakers:
Some of our classes may use audio and/or video. For these classes, you will need to have either integrated sound or a sound card with your computer. Computer speakers are also required.
Network Adapter and Internet Connection:
You are required to have an Internet connection. Thus, you are required to have a network card in your computer and subscribe to an Internet connection service through an Internet Service Provider. Or, you should have access to a public computer, a friend's computer, or a computer at work (with your employer’s permission) that has connection to the Internet.
It is recommended that you have a high speed Internet connection but not required.
Printer:
If you plan to print out the class notes, you should have access to a printer.
